What is pétanque

Pétanque is a French game for two teams of 1 to 3 players. The objective of the game is to place hollow metal balls as close as possible to the goal - a wooden ball called jack or cochonnet (lit. piglet). The principle is very simple, however, mastery of the technique and tactics requires regular training.

A significant advantage of this sport is that it can be played at the highest level by virtually anyone (women and men, elderly with children and the disabled can participate in all tournaments) and almost anywhere (surface for a pétanque terrain is basically arbitrary).
